Arrive at Glasgow

We’ll meet at Glasgow Airport with your coach driver and tour director, and we’ll whisk you off on your Scottish Adventure.

Arrive at Oban

Our first stop will be at Luss, a quaint village on the banks of Loch Lomond where we’ll have time to explore the village and soak up the atmosphere of the famous Loch. You can have coffee and cake in the coffee shop, or explore the historic church and churchyard and see the traditional cottages lining the streets. We’ll continue north towards Oban with a stop at the view at The Rest and be Thankful; then we’ll continue to Inveraray where you can visit the Castle of the Duke of Argyll who is also the head of Clan Campbell. Tour the castle and have lunch in the tearoom or stroll around the town and look in some of the quaint shops. We’ll then continue to Oban for the evening. Stay at a local hotel in town. (Welcome Dinner Included)

Travel to Isle of Skye

After your Continental breakfast, we’ll head north towards Fort William where we’ll take the road to the Isles after a stop at Glencoe where we’ll learn about the history of this most haunted of Glens. We’ll see the exhibition in the visitor center and learn of the tragedy that happened in 1692. We’ll then continue west to the fishing village of Mallaig where we’ll have time for lunch (on your own) in a local pub or café before we get the afternoon ferry to the Isle of Skye. The short ride is only 25 minutes then we’ll drive north through the Garden of Skye, the Sleat area past the natural nine-hole golf course and stunning scenery to our home for the next two nights. Explore Isle of Skye

On this day, we’ll depart after your good Scottish breakfast, and we’ll depart along with the single-track road to Elgol where we’ll have a boat ride into the back of the Cuillin Hills to Loch Corruisk. We’ll stop for an hour or so to hike the short distance to the Loch (not overly strenuous) where you can get some amazing views. The Loch is only accessible by boat/hike or hiking over the Hills. We’ll return to Elgol and back to the main road where we’ll stop for lunch back in Portree before we head north past the Old Man of Storr, stop at Kilt Rock and on up to the Trotternish Peninsula where we’ll cut across the Quairang for more amazing scenery. Travel to Isle of Harris

This morning we’ll get the ferry to the Isle of Harris where we’ll head south on the island to St Clements Church, a historical church owned by the McLeod’s who owned a lot of the island in the past, located at the tip of the island. We’ll drive past some of the stunning beaches of Harris, of which Luskentyre persistently gets voted among the top. We’ll then stop at a local hotel for lunch before we return up the island with a stop at Seallam, a small island history center. We’ll continue north back to Tarbert where we’ll visit the new Distillery, the Isle of Harris Distillery where we’ll have a tour of the process of whiskey and Gin making. Explore Isle of Lewis

After your good Scottish breakfast, we’ll head north around the Isle of Harris onto the Isle of Lewis, which is attached to Harris, and we’ll stop at the world Famous Callanais Standing Stones. We’ll hear the history of the area and can walk among the stones and get a glimpse of life during Neolithic times. We’ll then continue north to Gearranan BlackHouse Village, a cluster of small cottages that are now a museum of the Isles, where they’ll tell us the history of Peat, and Weaving and the way of life on these far-flung islands in the North Atlantic. We’ll have lunch along the way in a quaint café before we head to The Butt of Lewis where we’ll get some fantastic views of the cliffs. Hopefully on a sunny day. We’ll return to Tarbert for the evening. Overnight Tarbert. (Breakfast Included)

Travel to Auchnagairn

After breakfast, we’ll head to Stornoway, the largest town on the Western Isles, where we’ll have some free time to explore the town and the quaint shops before we get our ferry back to the mainland. We’ll head south and east down through some beautiful highland scenery to our home for the evening at Auchnagairn. Overnight at Auchnagairn. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)

Travel to Aberdeenshire

After our good Scottish breakfast, we’ll depart towards Inverness going through some beautiful scenery, and we’ll stop at Culloden Battlefield where the last land battle on British soil took place when Bonnie Prince Charlie tried to reclaim the throne. We’ll then make the short drive to Clava Cairns which was the inspiration for the books written by Diana Gabaldon, the Outlander Series. We’ll learn about the history of the cairns and experience the mystical feeling around this area before we depart along the northern coast road, called the Dolphin Coast. We’ll stop at Spey Bay at the Dolphin Center for a visit and then on to Portknockie where we take a walk along the cliffs to see Bow Fiddle Rock, a beautiful naturally carved Rock at the edge of the sea that is said to look like the bow of a Fiddle. There are some lovely views to be seen before we head to our hotel for the next two nights. Overnight Aberdeenshire. (Breakfast Included)

Explore Dolphin Coast

On this day, we’ll head to Fraserburgh to the Lighthouse Museum for a tour of the museum and a lighthouse. We’ll also visit the village of Pennan where the film Local Hero was filmed, a quaint fishing village on the coast. We’ll have a visit to Fyvie Castle where we’ll visit this most haunted of castles that have been featured on TV. Overnight Aberdeenshire. (Breakfast Included)

Travel to Pitlochry

We’ll head south, and our first stop will be for a tour of Speyside Cooperage where the whiskey barrels are re-engineered for more usage. You’ll see how they are handled and repaired by the local Coopers and learn the history of them. We’ll then head to a local Distillery since we are on the Distillery Trail, and tour one of the world’s most famous Distilleries, Glenlivet. We’ll then head south through the Cairngorm Mountains towards Pitlochry where we’ll be staying for the ight. Some free time to explore this quaint Highland town. Dinner on your own. Overnight Pitlochry. (Breakfast Included)

Travel to Scottish Borders

After our good Scottish breakfast, we’ll depart south towards Perth and continue down to Doune where we’ll visit Doune Castle, the Castle that was used in the Outlander TV series. We’ll learn the castles rich history before we continue south of Edinburgh to Rosslyn Chapel where we’ll visit this beautiful, historic chapel built by William Sinclair in the 1300s, who was the Earl of Orkney. Rosslyn Chapel was part of the Da Vinci Code Novel and was used as part of the filming. After our tour, we’ll continue south to the Scottish Borders where we’ll spend the two nights. Overnight Borders. (Breakfast Included)

Explore Scottish Borders

On this day, we’ll visit the home of Sir Walter Scott, probably Scotland’s most famous Author, Abbotsford, and Traquair House along the Tweed River. We’ll also have a visit to Lochcarron Weavers, where we’ll hear the history of how tartan is made. Time permitting we’ll also stop at one of the Border Abbeys. Overnight Borders. (Breakfast Included)

Travel to Glasgow

In the morning, we’ll head west to Burns Country where we’ll visit the Robert Burns Museum, the most famous Scots Bard, author and poet. We’ll see the quaint town of Alloway where he was born. You can see the cottage he was born in, wander over the Brig O’Doon and learn the story of his life in the Museum. We’ll then head north to Glasgow where we’ll stay at a hotel near the airport for our final night. Final night dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight Glasgow airport hotel. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)
