Arrive at Glasgow

Arrive on your overnight flight from the USA/Canada into Glasgow International Airport where you will meet your Tour Director and Coach Driver.

Travel to Oban

We’ll whisk you off from the city north up the side of Loch Lomond. We’ll have some time to explore the village of Luss on the Bonnie Banks. We’ll then head north through the Trossachs National Park and past the sea lochs to Inveraray where we’ll stop for lunch in one of the local pubs or tea rooms, or you can visit Inveraray Castle, home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, and the Campbell Clan. We’ll continue to Oban to our home for the night. (Dinner Included)

Travel to Isle of Skye

After breakfast, we’ll head north to Fort William where we’ll stop to explore this quaint Highland town; then we’ll take the Road to the Isles with our next stop being at Neptune’s Staircase, where nine locks allow boats out of the Caledonian Canal. After this short stop, our next stop will be at Glenfinnan Monument, erected in honor of Bonnie Prince Charlie, where he raised his standard to call the clans to fight to get his throne back. This was the beginning of what would end in the Battle of Culloden. We’ll continue to Mallaig, a quaint fishing village where we’ll get the 25-minute ferry to the Isle of Skye. We’ll stop for afternoon tea at Kinloch Lodge, the home of Lord and Lady McDonald who is a famous cookbook author and chef. After our traditional tea, (included) we’ll head north on Skye to Portree to our home for the next two nights. Overnight Isle of Skye.(Breakfast and Afternoon Tea Included)

Explore the Isle of Skye

On this day, we’ll head north to Dunvegan Castle, home of the McLeod clan, where we’ll tour this beautiful castle with lovely gardens, we’ll then head to the Waternish Peninsula where we’ll visit SkyeSkyns where we’ll learn about how the sheep skins are turned into rugs and other items. We’ll then have lunch at a local pub before we continue with a drive through the Quairang, some stunning scenery with a steep ride back down to the water’s edge. We’ll stop at the Old Man of Storr for photos, as well as Kilt Rock. Return to Portree where we’ll have some free time to explore the town, and it’s quaint shops. Overnight Isle of Skye. Travel to Auchnagairn

After our good Scottish breakfast, we’ll head south off the island over the New Bridge, built in 1996 which linked the island to the mainland. We’ll have a glass bottom boat tour of the Kyle of Lochalsh, where we’ll see some wildlife, then we’ll head up through the hills to the quaint village of Plockton where we’ll stop for lunch in this lovely village, with beautiful views and whitewashed cottages. We’ll then continue north through the stunning scenery of Wester Ross, and our next stop will be at Attadale Gardens, where we’ll have some time to explore and enjoy these beautiful Scottish natural gardens, located in a beautiful remote area. We’ll continue to Auchnagairn, where we’ll check into our hotel for the night, lodges on the castle grounds, where you can often see deer roaming around. (Breakfast and Dinner in Dining Room Included)

Travel to Dolphin Coast

We’ll head east through the Highlands past Inverness, the Capitol of the Highlands where we’ll continue to Ardersier where we’ll stop for a visit to Fort George, a large Garrison built in a star shape, after the Battle of Culloden. The current Fortress has never been attacked and is home to the 3rd Battalion Black Watch. We’ll tour this amazing fortress, with time for lunch in their tea room before we continue along the coast road through small villages, quaint seaside towns and we’ll stop at some beautiful beaches. Overnight in Banff area. (Breakfast Included)

Explore Dolphin Coast

On this day, we’ll head along the coast to the east where our first stop is at Fraserburgh where we’ll visit the Lighthouse Museum and get to climb to the top of one of the lighthouses and hear the history of the area and the small museum. On the way back we’ll stop at Pennan, where the film Local Hero was filmed. We’ll stop again in Portsoy, a quaint fishing village. We’ll continue to Portknockie where we’ll have a walk along the cliff edges to get some great photos of Bow Fiddle Rock, which is said to look like the Bow of a Fiddle. We’ll return to our hotel for the evening. (Breakfast Included)

Explore Dolphin Coast

After our good Scottish breakfast, we’ll head south to Fyvie Castle for a tour of this very haunted castle, one of the prettiest in Scotland in a Zplan style. After our visit, we’ll continue to Speyside Cooperage where we’ll see how whiskey barrels are renovated for further use and learn about the history of the Cooperage. Afterward, we’ll head to Glenlivet for a tour of this world-famous distillery. Return to our hotel for the evening. Overnight Banff Area. (Breakfast Included)

Travel to Pitlochry

We’ll head south down through the Cairngorm Mountains, and we’ll have a stop in Aviemore, the ski capital of Scotland, after which we’ll continue down the A9 to Pitlochry where we’ll arrive early afternoon, so we have time to explore this quaint Highland Village. We’ll check into our hotel for the night with a free afternoon to explore and shop. Overnight Pitlochry* (Breakfast Included)

Travel to Scottish Borders

We’ll continue south around the edge of Edinburgh, and our next stop will be at Rosslyn Chapel, a beautiful 14th-century chapel that was destined to be a massive Cathedral, but only the chapel was every built. Home to the Earl’s of Sinclair the chapel was mentioned in the novel, the Da Vinci Code and has some fascinating carved walls and pillars. We’ll then continue south into the Scottish Borders where we’ll have a visit to some of the Border Abbeys. On to our Hotel for the evening. Overnight Scottish Borders.

Explore the Borders

Day to Explore the Borders, Sir Walter Scott’s view, Selkirk with its quaint museums and graveyards, and we will have a tour of Lochcarron Tartan Mill and Weavers, where you can see how they make the fabric and learn the history of it. We will also have a tour of Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott, one of Scotland’s famous authors. Overnight Borders.

Travel to Glasgow

After our good Scottish breakfast, we’ll head west to towards the coast, and we’ll stop for a visit to Kircudbright (pronounced Kir Coo Bree) and we can visit Broughton House and Gardens and see the ruins of McClellan Castle in this lovely fishing village. We’ll then continue to our visit to Dumfries House, recently taken over by the Prince Charles Trust and given a new lease of life, and we’ll tour the gardens and house before we head north up to the outskirts of Glasgow where we’ll stay for the next two nights. Overnight Glasgow Area.

After breakfast, we’ll have a free day to visit the Glasgow area, possibly visit Kelvin Grove Museum, other free museums in the city, the Botanic Gardens, Burrell Collection or many other options. Final night dinner included. (No coach today.)
