Travel to Oban

We’ll whisk you off from the city north up the side of Loch Lomond. We’ll have some time to explore the village of Luss on the Bonnie Banks. We’ll then head north through the Trossachs National Park and past the sea lochs to Inveraray where we’ll stop for lunch in one of the local pubs or tea rooms, or you can have a visit to Inveraray Castle, home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, and the Campbell Clan. We’ll continue to Oban to our home for the next three nights. Overnight Oban. Welcome dinner included.

Explore Oban

After your good Scottish Breakfast, we’ll head south out of the city to Kilmartin Glen, a haunted Glen filled with standing stones and burial cairns. We’ll tour the museum and have a chance to climb Dunadd, an ancient Hill Fort where the Kings of Scotland were crowned in the past. We’ll then return to Oban for some free time to explore the town on your own, or do an optional tour of Oban Distillery. Overnight Oban.

Travel to Isle of Mull

We’ll have a morning ferry ride to the Isle of Mull and then head south to Iona where we’ll visit the ruins of Iona Abbey, where St Columba brought Christianity to Scotland in 562. We’ll then take a boat ride to Fingal’s Cave, Isle of Staffa, to see this amazing basalt rock cave. We’ll get as close as we can, possibly getting off the boat, depending on the weather. We’ll then return to Mull and Oban by Ferry. Overnight Oban.

Travel to Isle of Skye

After breakfast, we’ll head north to Fort William where we’ll stop to explore this quaint Highland town; then we’ll take the Road to the Isles with our next stop being at Neptune’s Staircase, where nine locks allow boats out of the Caledonian Canal. After this short stop, our next stop will be at Glenfinnan Monument, erected in honor of Bonnie Prince Charlie, where he raised his standard to call the clans to fight to get his throne back. This was the beginning of what would end in the Battle of Culloden. We’ll continue to Mallaig, a quaint fishing village where we get the 25-minute ferry to the Isle of Skye. We’ll have afternoon tea at Kinloch Lodge, home of Lord and Lady McDonald; then we’ll head to our home for the next two nights. Overnight Skye.

Explore Portree

After breakfast, we’ll have a day trip around the island; we’ll take a boat ride on the back of the Cuillin Hills, where you can take a light hike to hidden Loch Coruisk, then we’ll head north to visit a sheep farm, followed by a visit to Dunvegan Castle and Gardens. We’ll return to Portree for some free time before we head back to our hotel for the night.

Travel to Beauly

After your good Scottish Breakfast, we’ll head off the island over the Bridge from Skye to the mainland; our first stop will be at Eilean Donan Castle where we’ll tour this most photographed castle in Scotland and learn about its history. We’ll then continue over towards Loch Ness and on up the side of this famous Loch. Our next stop will be at the largest castle in Scotland, Urquhart where we’ll visit this castle on the banks of Loch Ness. We’ll then head up through the Great Glen, and Glen Affric to our home for the evening in a Lodge on the grounds of a local Castle. Overnight Beauly area.

Travel to Glasgow Airport

On this day, we’ll head to Inverness for a visit to this highland Capitol city. Our next stop will be on the east side of the city at Culloden Battlefield where we’ll hear the history of this Haunted Moor where the last land battle on British soil took place. We’ll then make a quick stop at Clava Cairns, the standing stones and burial cairns which were the inspiration for Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander Series. We’ll then head south down the A9 to Stirling and on to Glasgow, where we’ll spend the last night at a hotel at the airport for convenience for our morning departure for our flight to Dublin. Overnight Glasgow airport hotel.

Travel to Dublin

This morning we’ll depart for Dublin. Free afternoon to explore the city or have a nap in your room. You will have a 2-day local double decker bus tour ticket that covers both days in the city so you can see everything that you want and more. Overnight Dublin. (Breakfast Included)

Explore Dublin

After your good Irish Breakfast, you can get your bus ticket and head off to see more sites, such as Guinness Factory, Kilmahoan Gael (Jail), The Book of Kells, Trinity College and shop on the famous streets of Dublin, enjoying pubs and restaurants. On this night, we’ll have dinner and a show at the Abbey Tavern Banquet. Overnight Dublin. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)

Travel to Cobh

We’ll depart and head southwest to Kilkenny where you’ll have some time to explore the town’s Medieval Mile area, featuring Castles, a round tower, historical homes and Smithwicks Brewery among other places. After our visit, we’ll drive an hour to our next stop at the famous Rock of Cashel, once the seat of the High Kings of Munster, and was known as St Patricks Rock. We’ll spend some time learning the history of this ancient historical site in Co. Tipperarry. After our visit here we’ll depart to Cobh (pronounced Cove). We’ll check into our hotel for the evening and enjoy this quaint Irish town on the water. (Breakfast included and Dinner on your own.)

Travel to Killarney

After breakfast, we’ll depart for the Blarney Woollen Mills where you can shop till you drop in this world famous Irish shopping area. We’ll then continue to Killarney where we’ll start our drive of the Ring of Kerry, one of Ireland’s most famous scenic routes. We’ll drive along the amazing scenery stopping along the way, including a stop at Sneem with many photo moments along the path. We’ll return to the Killarney National Forest to Killarney to our hotel for the evening. Overnight Killarney. (Breakfast included and Dinner on your own.)

Travel to Galway

After breakfast, we’ll head north out of Killarney up towards Limerick and head across the Burren National Park to the Cliffs of Moher, another famous Irish landmark where we can visit O’Briens Round Tower which gives us a great view of these amazing Cliffs. We’ll continue to Kilfenora where we’ll learn the history of this area, and then we’ll drive through the barren gray scenery of the Burren, with its beautiful wildflowers growing through the rocks. A unique area with some stunning scenery. We’ll stop on the karstic limestone pavement of the Burren, and see one of the most famous Irish dolmens, Poulnabrone Dolman. This site dates back to 2500 BC. Overnight Galway. (Breakfast Included)

Explore Galway

On this day, we’ll head north into Connemara where we’ll visit the beautiful Kylemore Abbey and drive through some stunning scenery in this area. We’ll have afternoon tea at Ashford Castle before we return to Galway for the evening. Overnight Galway. (Breakfast Included)

Travel to Dublin

After breakfast, we’ll head east to Clonmacnoise, a round tower, and Monastery located on the River Shannon. It has a small museum of standing stones, the ruins of the monastery, a tall round tower dates back to 544. A very interesting look at Irish history. We’ll then continue back towards Dublin heading a bit north of the city to Newgrange, the large chamber tomb for a visit to this 5000-year-old site. Continue to Dublin to the airport hotel for our final night. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)
